Aesthetics
I want to describe my view of what I find beautiful. This will constantly evolve.
Yo-no-bi (用美): there is beauty in use. I prefer a beautiful watch than can tell me the time using an intricate movement more than I enjoy a pretty bracelet.
User experience is far more important than pretty interfaces. I like emacs and the Bloomberg terminal. They are both optimized for the keyboard-weilding power user. I prefer the Hobonichi Techo with it's markings for time-of-day and daily quotes over the empty Moleskine notebook.
Clean. I dislike clutter. In my thinking and my designs. There is so much beauty to be expressed and the medium should not drown out the expression. The presentation should serve the purpose of expressing the idea or emotion, adding embellishment where it makes the message clearer.
